(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 중부지방해양경찰청(청장 김병로)이 지난 8일부터 오는 12일까지 5일 동안 인천광역시 연수구 송도동 박태환 아쿠아틱 센터에서 소속 경찰관을 대상으로 구조 능력 평가를 실시하고 있다.

해양경찰 현장 구조 능력 강화와 기초 체력 증진을 위해 실시하고 있는 이번 평가는 중부지방해양경찰청 소속 경찰관 3백여명이 참가한다.

구조 능력 평가에서는 자유형 50미터, 평영 50미터, 잠영 10미터 등 3종목의 완주 여부를 통해 기초 수영 능력을 측정하게 되며, 평가 결과는 경찰관 근무 평정에 반영된다.

이번 평가에서는 코로나19 감염병 재확산 방지를 위해 시차별 인원 제한, 거리두기, 체온 측정 등을 철저히 실시하고, 안전 사고 예방을 위해 응급구조사 자격증을 가진 구조 경찰관을 수영장에 배치했다.

중부지방해양경찰청 관계자는 “이번 구조 능력 평가가 경찰관 기초 체력 증진과 현장 구조 능력 향상에 크게 기여할 것으로 본다”며 “현장에 강하고, 신뢰받는 해양경찰을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 설명했다.

한편, 중부지방해양경찰청은 적극 행정의 일환으로 소속 경찰관을 대상으로 상시 학습과 연계한 수영 프로그램을 적극적으로 운영하는 등 현장 근무자의 구조 능력 향상을 위해 노력하고 있다.
