(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천창조경제혁신센터(이하 인천센터)가 지난 25일, 중국 청두에서 열린 제6차 '골든팬더 글로벌 혁신 창업대회'에서 한국 스타트업 5개사의 수상을 이끌어내며 역대 최고의 성과를 거뒀다고 밝혔다

인천센터에 따르면, '골든팬더 글로벌 혁신 창업대회'는 중국 청두 고신구가 주최하는 국제 스타트업 경진대회로, 올해 전 세계 9,000여 개의 유망 스타트업들이 각 지역(한국, 미국, 유럽, 동남아, 중국) 예선을 거쳐 200개 기업이 준결승과 결승에 진출했다. 

대회는 3개 분야별 상위 10개 기업에 총상금 6억 원과 청두 고신구 입주 혜택을 포함한 다양한 지원을 제공한다.

인천센터는 2016년부터 8년간 구축해온 중국 청두시와의 네트워크를 바탕으로, 올해 처음으로 골든팬더 대회의 동아시아 지역 예선을 청두고신구와 공동주관했다. 

한국 지역 예선에서는 4:1의 높은 경쟁률을 뚫고 선발된 10개 기업이 청두 본선에 진출했고, 이 중 5개 기업이 수상하는 쾌거를 이뤘다.

수상 기업 중 나노메디팜(대표 오근상)은 첨단바이오 분야에서 3등상을 차지했으며 약물 전달 기술을 활용한 암 진단 및 치료용 신약 개발로 글로벌 제약사들과 어깨를 나란히 했다는 평가다. 

또한 우수상을 수상한 기업으로는 일만백만(대표 김유석, AI 기반 문서 자동 영상 생성 서비스), 레졸루션(대표 김혁, PCB 육안검사 자동화 AI 솔루션), 브이에스팜텍(대표 박신영, 방사선치료 효과 증폭제), 더안(대표 안승엽, 비채혈식 당뇨병 검사 바이오센서) 등이 있다.

이한섭 센터장은 “중국 청두시와의 오랜 파트너십을 바탕으로 대회를 주관하며 한국 스타트업이 글로벌 무대에서 뛰어난 역량을 선보일 기회를 마련했다”며, “이번 대회 수상기업들이 중국 시장에 성공적으로 안착할 수 있도록 후속 지원을 아끼지 않을 것”이라고 강조했다. 

또한, “내년에도 더 많은 기업들이 글로벌 성공 사례를 만들 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 인천센터는 중국 청두뿐만 아니라 상하이, 북경, 심천 등 중국 주요 지역과도 활발히 교류하고 있으며, 최근 미국, 싱가포르, 베트남 등 글로벌 진출 프로그램으로 확장을 이어가고 있다.

Incheon Creative Economy Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as Incheon Center) announced on the 25th that it achieved its best performance ever by leading 5 Korean startups to win awards at the 6th ‘Golden Panda Global Innovation Startup Competition’ held in Chengdu, China

According to Incheon Center, ‘Golden Panda Global Innovation Startup Competition’ is an international startup competition hosted by Chengdu High-Tech District, China. This year, approximately 9,000 promising startups from around the world went through preliminary rounds in each region (Korea, the US, Europe, Southeast Asia, China), and 200 companies advanced to the semifinals and finals.

The competition provides a total prize money of 600 million won and various support including benefits of entering the Chengdu New Area to the top 10 companies in each of the three categories.

Based on the network with Chengdu, China that has been built for eight years since 2016, Incheon Center co-hosted the East Asia regional preliminaries of the Golden Panda Competition with Chengdu New Area for the first time this year.

In the Korean regional preliminaries, 10 companies were selected through a high competition rate of 4:1 and advanced to the Chengdu main event, and five of them achieved the feat of winning awards.

Among the award-winning companies, Nanomedipharm (CEO Oh Geun-sang) won third place in the advanced bio category and is evaluated to be on par with global pharmaceutical companies by developing new drugs for cancer diagnosis and treatment using drug delivery technology.

Also, companies that received the Excellence Award include Ilmambaekman (CEO Kim Yoo-seok, AI-based document automatic image generation service), Resolution (CEO Kim Hyeok, PCB visual inspection automation AI solution), VSPharmtech (CEO Park Shin-young, radiation therapy effect enhancer), and Dean (CEO Ahn Seung-yeop, non-blood type diabetes test biosensor).

Center Director Lee Han-seop emphasized, “Based on our long-standing partnership with Chengdu, China, we have hosted the competition and created an opportunity for Korean startups to showcase their outstanding capabilities on the global stage,” and “We will spare no follow-up support so that the companies that won this competition can successfully settle into the Chinese market.”

He also said, “We will actively support more companies to create global success stories next year.”

Meanwhile, the Incheon Center is actively interacting with major regions in China such as Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen in addition to Chengdu, and has recently expanded into global expansion programs in the US, Singapore, and Vietnam.
