(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 계양구가 29일, '계양구립종합누리센터 건립'을 위한 부지매입을 당초 계획보다 앞당겨 2025년 1월 초 완료할 계획이라고 밝혔다.

계양구에 따르면, 계양테크노밸리에 수용된 동양노인문화센터(등록회원 3,300명)의 이전 시기와 2026년 예정된 대규모 공동주택 입주 시기 등 주변 환경 요인을 고려했을 때 신속한 사업 추진이 요구되기 때문이다. 

아울러 부지매입을 통해 인천시의 사업비 보조금 지원 조건을 충족하고 보조금을 적기에 지원받아 계획대로 2025년에 착공하기 위함이다. 

‘구립종합누리센터’는 ‘인천시 재정운영 조례 시행규칙’에 따라 공공건축물(장애인시설) 건립 30%, 노인시설 건립 50% 보조금 지급 대상에 해당되어 현재 구는 인천시에 예산 지원을 신청한 상태이다.

구는 2025년도 본예산(안)에 부지 매입비 12억 4천여만 원을 계상한 상태로, 내년 초 부지매입을 시작으로 향후 공사착공을 위한 사업비 확보가 필요함을 강조하며 인천시의 적극적인 검토와 협조를 요청했다.  

한편, 계양구립종합누리센터는 총사업비 240억 원을 투입해 동양동 일원 1,700㎡ 부지에 지하 1층부터 지상 4층의 규모로 건립될 예정이며 노인문화센터, 장애인복지관, 발달장애인평생교육센터로 조성될 계획이다.

계양구는 2027년부터 계양종합누리센터를 본격 운영할 예정으로, 노인 여가생활 증진과 장애인의 사회적응을 위한 다양한 사업을 통해 지역의 복합적인 복지 욕구를 적극적으로 충족해 나갈 계획이다.

계양구 관계자는 “내년 초 부지매입이 완료되면 설계와 건축 인허가 절차를 신속히 진행할 계획이다. 사업이 원활하게 진행되어 주민에게 실질적인 혜택을 제공할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다.”고 말했다.
