(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 남동구가 3일, 제11회 사랑의 열매 대상에서 시민 참여 부문 ‘나눔장’을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

남동구에 따르면, ‘사랑의 열매 대상’은 사회복지공동모금회가 주관해 나눔 문화 확대와 공동모금회 발전에 이바지한 기관과 개인에 수여하는 상이다.

남동구는 지방자치단체로서 지역사회 기부문화 활성화 및 사회보장 증진에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.

특히, 사랑의 열매 기부 프로그램인 착한일터‧착한가게 홍보 및 가입 등 성금 모금을 적극 추진해 나눔 문화 확산에 앞장섰다.

또한, 다수의 지역사회보장협의체 복지사업과 포스코이앤씨·메리츠화재 등 민관 협업사업을 통해 취약계층 생활 지원에 노력한 점이 높은 평가를 받았다. 

박종효 구청장은 “뜻깊은 상을 받게 되어 매우 영광이고 사회복지공동모금회에 감사드린다”며 “앞으로도 우리 구에 이웃을 향한 사랑과 나눔이 활성화될 수 있도록 더욱더 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
