(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 관세청 인천공항본부세관이 지난 11일 인천국제공항 제1여객터미널 2층 대회의실에서 ‘이달의 마약적발왕’ 시상식을 개최하고 마약적발 우수 탐지견을 선정해 시상했다고 밝혔다.

인천공항세관에 따르면, 이날 ’25년 상반기(’24.1월∼’25.5월) 가장 우수한 실적을 거둔 탐지견으로 ‘밀리2’(핸들러 이소진)가 선정됐다.

 ‘밀리2’는 사전정보 없이 탐지 활동을 통해 태국에서 우편물로 반입된 태국 차(THAI TEA) 박스 속 대마초를 적발하는 등 작년 12월부터 올해 5월까지 약 2억5천만원 상당 마약을 차단하는데 기여했다.

또한, 지난 4월 2일 멕시코를 출발하여 강릉시 옥계항으로 입항한 노르웨이 국적 무역선 밀실 안에 은닉된 코카인 2톤 상당을 관세청․해양경찰청 합동 수색팀과 함께 정확히 탐지해 역대 최대 마약 적발에 기여한 탐지견 ‘딜론’(핸들러 박동민)에게 특별공로상을 수여하였다.

 이번 시상식은 인천공항본부세관 마약 근절 홍보대사인 개그우먼 ‘김승혜’씨가 함께 참석해 ‘밀리2’에게 마약탐지왕 메달을 걸어주고 ‘딜론’에게 공로상을 시상하며 축하했다.

인천공항세관은 통관․검사단계의 마약적발에 역량을 집중하며, 지난해 2월부터 매월 마약 적발 우수부서(팀)와 반기별 우수 탐지견을 선정해 시상하고 있다.

우수 마약탐지견 시상과 함께 이날 ‘이달의 마약적발왕’을 수상한 마약적발 우수부서는  휴대품 검사분야에는 여행자통관1국 여행자통관검사3관(태국發 이어폰 속 은닉, 메트암페타민 등), 특송․우편물검사분야에는 특송통관3과 2팀(태국發 식품 속 은닉, 야바 60,535정 등),판독분야에는 특송통관1과 2팀(태국發 식품 속 은닉, 야바 3,983 등), 정보분석분야에는 특송우편총괄과 특송팀(미국發 매트 사이 은닉, 메트암페타민 4.3kg 등)이 선정됐다.

인천공항세관은 앞으로도 마약류 밀반입 단속에 우수한 성과를 거둔 직원들을 포상하여 격려하고, 기관의 모든 역량을 총동원하여 마약 단속을 강화해 나갈 예정이다.
