(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시교육청이 지난 17일부터 오는 12월 12일까지 강화교육발전특구 사업의 일환으로 ‘독서토론 기반 에코스마트팜 캠프’를 운영한다고 밝혔다.

인천시교육청에 따르면, 이번 캠프는 강화 지역의 특색 있는 교육과정과 기후 위기 대응, 미래 농업 분야 진로 교육을 융합한 생태-과학 통합 프로그램이다. 

인천대학교와 협력해 강화 관내 초등학교 4~6학년을 대상으로 진행되며, 학생들은 독서토론을 통해 자연과 기술의 관계를 성찰하고 아두이노, IoT 센서 등을 활용한 스마트팜 설계·제작 체험을 한다.

프로그램은 6차시로 구성되어 인문학적 사고력과 과학기술 기반 문제해결력을 함께 기르는 데 중점을 뒀다.

캠프에 참여한 한 학생은 “자연과 환경을 주제로 토론하며 기후 문제 해결 기술을 만드는 사람이 되고 싶다는 꿈을 갖게 됐다”고 소감을 전했다. 

인천시교육청 관계자는 “학생들이 읽고, 생각하고, 만들어보는 전 과정을 통해 스스로 미래를 설계하는 기회를 제공하는 것이 이번 캠프의 핵심”이라며 “이번 프로그램이 ‘사교육 없는 진로 탐색 환경 조성’을 지향하는 강화교육발전특구의 실질적 모델이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that it will operate 'Eco Smart Farm Camp based on reading and discussion' from the 17th to December 12th as part of the Ganghwa Education Development Special Zone project.

According to Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education, this camp is an integrated ecology-science program that combines the unique curriculum of Ganghwa region, climate crisis response, and future agricultural career education.

It will be conducted in cooperation with Incheon National University for 4th to 6th graders of elementary schools in Ganghwa, and students will reflect on the relationship between nature and technology through reading and discussion and experience designing and building a smart farm using Arduino, IoT sensors, etc.

The program consisted of six sessions and focused on fostering both humanistic thinking and science and technology-based problem-solving skills.

One student who participated in the camp said, “I came to dream of becoming someone who creates technology to solve climate problems while discussing the topics of nature and the environment.”

An official from the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education said, “The core of this camp is to provide students with an opportunity to design their own future through the entire process of reading, thinking, and creating,” adding, “This program will become a practical model for the Gangwha Education Development Special Zone, which aims to ‘create an environment for career exploration without private education.’”
