This is because the implementation of the so-called Y-shaped route was selected as the best option for the GTX-D route from Seoul to Incheon International Airport (via Cheongna) and Gimpo (via Geomdan) from Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province.

 

On the 12th, Incheon Mayor Park Nam-chun received a report on the plan for the GTX-D route with such details at the ¡°Pre-Feasibility Study Service Report Meeting for Metropolitan Express Railway Introduction¡± held at City Hall.

 

Incheon City is planning to suggest that the relevant plans be reflected in national plans such as the ¡°4th National Rail Network Construction Plan,¡± promoted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport this week.

 

¡°To Incheon International Airport and to Geomdan¡¤Gimpo¡± is a route that runs in two branches from Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do to southern Seoul (Samseong-Guro)-Bucheon Sports Complex, Gyeyang-Gumdan, Gimpo and Gajeong-Cheongna-Youngjong Sky City-Incheon International Airport. It has a total length of 110.27 km and 18 stations, and the total project cost is expected to cost KRW 10.78 trillion.

 

In this'preliminary feasibility study service for the introduction of metropolitan express railroad', we focused on three plans to implement the two routes at the same time, including Incheon International Airport and Geomdan and Gimpo. It was analyzed that the highest B/C (Benefit Cost Ratio) was 1.03, which was implemented at the same time.

 

For this service, when the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Maritime Affairs Committee (hereinafter referred to as ¡°Daegwangwi¡±) announced'Great Transit 2030' on October 31, 2019, in order to expand the scope of the beneficiary of the metropolitan express train, It had been launched on May 19th this year to respond preemptively.

 

When the GTX-D line is opened, Incheon International Airport and Geomdan can travel to and from the east and west areas of the metropolitan area such as Hanam within an hour, and since it is connected to the southern part of Seoul in about 30 minutes, the quality of life of citizens in the metropolitan area is improved and balanced development of the metropolitan area.
