(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 재단법인 부평장학재단이 2022년 장학생(대학생 20명 500만원 총지급액 1억원) 선발을 이사회 심의를 통해 선발 완료하고, 지난 4월 9일 오전 10시 재단법인 부평장학재단 회의실에서 조진형 이사장과 선발 장학생 20명만이 참석한 가운데 장학증서 전달식을 가졌다.

이날 조진형 이사장은 선발된 20명의 장학생들에게 장학증서를 수여한 후 인사를 통해, 본 재단의 장학생으로 선발된 것을 재단 가족과 함께 축하드리며, 대한민국이 변변한 자원과 자본도 없는 나라에서 오늘의 10대 경제 강국으로 도약할 수 있었던 큰 힘은 무엇보다도 교육의 힘이었다고 강조하고“글로벌시대에 본 재단 출신 인재들이 각계각층 전문분야에서 활발한 활동을 펼치고 있는 만큼, 2022년도 장학생들도 선배들에 뒤지지 않는 창의적 인재들로 성장해줄 것”을 당부했다.

한편, 부평장학재단은 국가와 사회에 봉사할 지도적 인물을 육성함은 물론, 인천지역 출신의 인재양성을 재단설립 목적으로 2002년 9월에 조진형 이사장의 초기 출연금 20억5천만원과 2013년 3월 추가출연금 20억원 등 총40억5천만원의 자본금으로 설립, 20년간 장학생 859명에게 장학금 지급총액 21억5천784만원을 지급하며 운영되고 있다.
