(브레이크뉴스인천 문광수 기자) 인천시 검단선사박물관에서 오는 8월 17일부터 12월 31일까지 2022년도 특별전 ‘발굴로 깨어나는 3천 년 전 신도시-검단신도시 발굴이야기’전(展)을 개최한다.

이번 전시는 우리나라 최대 규모의 택지조성사업인 검단신도시 조성과정에서 지난 2014년부터 2020년까지 이루어진 발굴조사의 내용과 성과를 시민들에 소개하고자 마련됐다.

대규모 택지개발은 오랫동안 이어져 오던 자연지형의 변형과 유적의 훼손을 가져오기 때문에 그 흔적이 사라지기 전에 역사의 모습을 기록해야하며 이를 위해 발굴조사는 가장 중요한 방법 중 하나다. 

검단신도시 지역의 문화재 발굴조사 결과, 유구 3,000여 기, 유물 7,500여 점이 확인됐다.

특히, 청동기시대에 검단지역은 우리나라 중서부 최대 규모의 취락이 형성된 지역임이 밝혀져 이번 전시를 통해 검단신도시 개발의 역사성을 청동기시대 대규모 취락의 재탄생으로 해석했다. 
  

특별전은 총 3부로 1부‘흙의 기억 찾기’, 2부‘흙의 기억 되살리기’, 3부‘흙의 기억 누리기’로 구성했다.

출토된 유구와 유물을 통해 길게는 수천 년에서 짧게는 수백 년 전 우리 선조들의 정치 사회상과 생활 문화상을 그려볼 수 있을 것이다.

이번 발굴조사를 통해 출토된 유물은 현재 검단선사박물관 수장고에 보관돼 있으며 이 유물들은 2026년 불로동 근린 14호 공원에 새롭게 개관할 가칭 검단신도시박물관에 전시됨으로써 일반 시민들에게 찾아갈 예정이다.   

김명석 인천시 검단선사박물관장은 “이번 특별전을 통해 우리 검단이 걸어온 길과 앞으로 걸어갈 길을 한 눈에 볼 수 있는 좋은 기회가 될 수 있기를 바란다”고 말했다. 

관람시간은 매일 오전 9시부터 6시까지이고 관람료는 무료, 휴관일은 매주 월요일이다.

From August 17th to December 31st at the Geomdan Prehistory Museum in Incheon, a special exhibition in 2022, ‘The New City Awakening by Excavation – The Story of the Excavation of Geomdan New City’ will be held.

This exhibition was prepared to introduce the contents and achievements of excavations conducted from 2014 to 2020 in the process of building Geomdan New Town, the largest housing site development project in Korea.

Since large-scale development of housing sites leads to the transformation of long-standing natural topography and damage to the ruins, it is necessary to record the history before the traces disappear, and excavation is one of the most important methods for this purpose.

As a result of excavation of cultural assets in the Geomdan New Town area, about 3,000 relics and 7,500 relics were confirmed.

In particular, in the Bronze Age, it was revealed that the Geomdan area was the region where the largest settlements were formed in the midwestern part of Korea.
  

The special exhibition consists of three parts: Part 1, 'Finding Memories of Soil,' Part 2, 'Reviving Memories of Soil,' and Part 3, 'Enjoying Memories of Soil'.

Through the excavated remains and relics, the political, social and cultural aspects of our ancestors can be drawn from thousands of years to hundreds of years ago.

The relics excavated through this excavation are currently stored in the storage of the Geomdan Prehistoric Museum, and these relics will be displayed in the tentatively named Geomdan New City Museum, which will be opened in Park No. 14 near Bulro-dong in 2026.

Kim Myeong-seok, director of the Geomdan Prehistory Museum in Incheon, said, “I hope this special exhibition will be a good opportunity to see the path our Geomdan has walked and the path to be followed at a glance.”

It is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm, admission is free, and it is closed on Mondays.
