(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천계양경찰서가 지난 17일 범죄 피해자 및 사회적 약자 지원을 위해 지역 내 민간봉사단체를 초청해 간담회를 개최하고 유공자 12명에게 감사장을 수여했다고 밝혔다.

계양서에 따르면, 이날 간담회에는‘사랑뜰봉사단’과 ‘새마을운동인천계양구협의회’가 함께 했으며, 취약계층 지원을 통한 체감안전도 향상 방안 논의 및 감사장 수여 순으로 진행됐다.

두 단체는 지난 5월 ‘가정의 달 맞이, 사회적 약자를 위한 사랑의 바자회’를 개최하여 약 1천여 명의 참여를 이끄는 등 성공적인 지역행사를 펼쳐 큰 호응과 함께 성금을 모금한 바 있다. 

또, 사랑뜰봉사단은 2020년 업무협약 이후 만 4년째 계양구 범죄 피해자 및 경제취약계층 등 사회적 약자를 위한 나눔 활동을 꾸준하게 실천하고 있다. 

김연목 단장은 “더운 날씨에도 어려운 이웃을 위해 모인 단원들과 참여해 주신 주민분들께 진심으로 감사드린다, 앞으로도 계양 경찰과 함께 도움이 필요한 이웃에게 힘이 되겠다.”며 소감을 밝혔다.

새마을운동인천계양구협의회 또한 취약계층을 위해 활발한 봉사활동을 이어가고 있으며, 한남준 회장은 “봉사라는 것이 나 혼자 실천하긴 어려워도 함께 한다면 전혀 어려울 것이 없다, 앞으로도 여긴 모인 분들과 함께 마음과 힘을 합쳐 행동으로 실천하겠다.”며 자신감 넘치는 소감을 밝히기도 했다.

김난영 경찰서장은 “생업이 바쁘신 와중에 오로지 사회적 약자를 위하는 마음으로 모여 이웃사랑을 몸소 실천해주셔서 감사하다.”며 진심이 담긴 감사의 뜻을 전하며 마무리했다.
