(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자)인천강화교육지원청이 5일, 강화여자고등학교 기숙사 이전 사업의 최대 난관이었던 역사문화환경보존지역 내 문화재 현상 변경 심의를 통과해 지난 6월 말 국가유산청으로부터 ‘조건부 허가’를 받았다고 밝혔다.

강화교육지원청에 따르면, 강화여고 기숙사 이전 사업은 학생들의 안전과 학습 여건 개선을 위해 학교 밖 도보 10분 거리에 있는 기숙사를 학교 안 옛 강화여중 자리로 옮기는 사업이다. 

2026년 6월 완공 및 입주를 목표로 추진 중이며, 인천시교육청, 강화교육지원청, 강화여고, 학부모 등 교육 구성원들이 2022년부터 추진단을 구성해 지속적으로 현안에 대해 소통하고 있다.

강화교육지원청 관계자는 “국가유산청 문화유산위원회의 조건부 가결 사항인 관계 전문가 자문을 충실히 이행하고, 건축 기획·설계·공사 등 시설 사업 추진에 속도를 높여 학생들이 안전한 기숙사에서 교육활동을 할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
