(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 지난 8일 인천 미추홀구에 위치한 틈문화창작지대에서 ‘2024 인천 인구정책 포럼’을 성황리에 개최했다고 밝혔다. 

인천시에 따르면, 이번 포럼은 인천시와 보건복지부가 공동 주최하고, (사)인구와미래정책연구원이 주관하여 ‘인구구조 변화 대응, 지속가능한 인천 발전 방안 모색’을 주제로 진행됐다.

이날 포럼에서는 인천의 인구정책 전문가와 관계 공무원, 시민 등 100여 명이 참석하여 인구구조 변화와 그에 따른 정책적 대응 방안을 논의하는 자리가 마련됐다. 

유근식 인천연구원 연구위원이‘인천 인구구조 현황과 대응 방안’을, 송다영 인천대학교 교수가‘지속가능한 사회를 위한 저출생 정책의 방향’을 주제로 각각 발표하여 인구정책의 현황과 향후 과제를 제시했다.

이후 진행된 종합토론에서는 참석자들이 인천의 인구구조 변화에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 정책적 접근 방안과 대응책을 제안하고, 시민들의 정책제언과 다양한 의견을 함께 공유하는 시간을 가졌다. 

특히 저출생, 고령화, 인구유출 등 지역사회가 당면한 인구 문제의 심각성을 다시 한번 확인하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 중앙정부와 지방정부, 민간의 협력 방안을 논의했다.

한편, 인천시는 이번 포럼의 논의 결과를 바탕으로 인천의 인구정책 추진 방향을 더욱 구체화하고, 저출생 극복과 인구구조 변화 대응을 위한 정책 수립에 반영할 계획이다.

Incheon City announced that it successfully held the '2024 Incheon Population Policy Forum' at the Gap Culture Creation Zone located in Michuhol-gu, Incheon on the 8th.

According to Incheon City, this forum was co-hosted by Incheon City and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and hosted by the Population and Future Policy Research Institute, and was held under the theme of 'Responding to Population Structure Changes, Seeking Sustainable Incheon Development Measures'.

Approximately 100 people including Incheon's population policy experts, related public officials, and citizens attended the forum to discuss population structure changes and corresponding policy responses.

Researcher Yoo Geun-sik of Incheon Research Institute presented ‘Current Status of Incheon Population Structure and Response Measures’, and Professor Song Da-young of Incheon National University presented ‘Direction of Low Birth Rate Policy for Sustainable Society’, respectively, presenting the current status of population policy and future tasks.

In the comprehensive discussion that followed, participants proposed policy approaches and response measures based on their understanding of Incheon’s population structure changes, and shared policy suggestions and various opinions from citizens.

In particular, they reaffirmed the seriousness of the population problems facing local communities, such as low birth rate, aging, and population outflow, and discussed ways for cooperation between the central government, local government, and the private sector to solve these problems.

Meanwhile, Incheon City plans to further specify the direction of Incheon’s population policy based on the results of the discussions at this forum and reflect them in establishing policies to overcome low birth rate and respond to changes in population structure.
