(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 중부지방해양경찰청이 지난 25일, 특공대가 경기도 의왕시에 소재한 철거 예정인 의왕 재개발 단지에서 효과적인 불법 외국선박 단속을 위한 ‘통로 개척 전술훈련’을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

중부해경청에 따르면, 이번 훈련은 서해 해상에서 불법조업을 감행하다 해양경찰의 단속을 피하기 위해 조타실과 기관실 등을 철제문이나 이중문으로 폐쇄하고 도주하는 상황을 대비한 훈련으로 진행됐다.

중부해경 특공대원들은 실전에서 단속장비를 착용하고 선박 내부로 진입하기 위한 통로개척 기술을 연마했으며, 이러한 훈련을 통해 불법 외국선박에 대한 단속 역량을 한층 강화하는데 노력했다.

중부해경청은 점차 지능화하는 불법외국어선 단속을 위해 ‘단속노하우 공유’와 ‘통로개척 전술훈련’등을 실시했으며, 지난, 2017년 4월 서해5도특별경비단을 창단 이후 지금까지 불법외국어선 110척을 나포했다.

중부해경 특공대 관계자는 "이번 훈련으로 불법 외국선박을 효과적 단속이 가능할 것이다.”며 "앞으로 해양주권 수호와 해상치안 확립을 위해 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
