(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천해양경찰서가 2일,  제6차 미세먼지 계절관리제 시행에 맞춰 12월부터 2025년 3월까지 관내 운항선박 및 하역시설을 대상으로 일제점검을 실시한다고 밝혔다..

인천해경에 따르면, 미세먼지 계절관리제는 고농도 미세먼지 발생이 빈번한 겨울철에 평상시보다 강화한 저감 정책을 추진하는 제도로 정부가 2019년 도입했다.

이에 인천해경은 선박 연료유의 황함유량 기준 준수 여부와 연료유 수급 및 교환사항 기록 여부, 연료유 견본 보관 여부 등을 중점적으로 점검한다.

국내 항해선박의 연료유 황함유량 기준은 경유 0.05% 이하, 중유 0.5% 이하이고, 국제 항해선박은 유종에 관계없이 0.5% 이하다. 배출규제해역인 인천항은 연료유 황함유량 기준이 0.1% 이하로 일반 해역보다 강화된 기준이 적용된다.

이를 초과하는 연료유를 사용할 경우 관련법에 따라 1년 이하의 징역 또는 1천만 원 이하의 벌금에 처해진다.

이와 함께 인천해경은 하역시설 대상 비산먼지 발생 억제설비 설치 및 정상 작동 여부 등도 점검한다.

한재철 인천해경 해양오염방제과장은 “항만지역의 미세먼지 발생을 줄이기 위해서는 기준에 적합한 선박 연료유를 사용해야 한다”며 “깨끗한 해양환경이 조성될 수 있도록 해양종사자들의 적극적인 협조를 부탁한다”고 말했다.
