(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천시가 3일, 인천을 포함한 경기 서북부권에 소아중환자실이 최초로 문을 열어 그간 인천의 소아 중환자들은 가장 가까운 분당까지 가야 했지만, 인천에 소아중환자실이 생기면서 어린 환자들은 물론 부모들의 부담도 한결 덜 수 있게 됐다고 밝혔다. 

인천시에 따르면,  지난  2일 인하대학교병원에서 어린이 공공전문진료센터 소아중환자실 개소식을 개최했다.

이번 소아중환자실은 경기 서북부권 소아 중증 환자에 대한 전문적 진료와 체계적 관리를 위해 마련됐으며, 총 5병상의 소아중환자실과 소아 수술실을 갖추고 있다. 

2024년 4월부터 11월까지 약 8개월간의 준비 과정을 거쳐 개소됐으며, 총사업비 15억 5,380만 원(국비 50%, 자부담 50%)이 투입됐다. 

이번 소아중환자실 개소는 그동안 인천 지역에 전문 소아중환자실이 없어 발생했던 의료 공백을 해소하는 중요한 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다. 

개소식 이후 소아청소년과 23명의 전문 의료진이 중증 소아 환자들을 체계적으로 돌보며 안정적이고 전문적인 의료 서비스를 제공할 예정이다.

이날 개소식에는 유정복 시장을 비롯해 지역 국회의원, 중구청장, 인하대학교 총장, 인하대병원장 등 주요 인사가 참석해 자리를 빛냈다. 

개소식은 병원장의 인사와 주요 내빈의 축사를 시작으로 소아중환자실 소개, 테이프 커팅 및 기념촬영, 시설 라운딩 순으로 진행됐다.

유정복 시장은 “이번 소아중환자실 개소는 인천의 아동 의료 인프라 강화와 경기 서북부권 소아 중증 환자의 치료 접근성을 높이는 중요한 전환점이 될 것”이라며 “앞으로도 인천시는 어린이들이 건강하게 자랄 수 있는 환경 조성을 위해 최선을 다하겠다”라고 말했다. 

한편, 인천시는 아이 키우기 좋은 환경을 위해 아이(i) 시리즈 출생 정책을 추진하고 있다. 

인천에서 태어난 모든 아이에게 18세까지 총 1억 원을 지원하는 ‘아이(i) 플러스 1억드림’, 신혼부부와 신생아 가정의 주거 안정을 돕는 ‘아이(i) 플러스 집드림’, 출산 부모에게 대중교통 요금을 최대 70%까지 환급해 주는 ‘아이(i) 플러스 차비드림’ 등이다.
