(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 계양구가 10일 최근 장기동 황어장터 3·1만세운동 역사문화센터 광장에 조성된 ‘계양구 제1호 스마트도서관’의 개관식을 갖고 본격적인 운영을 시작했다고 밝혔다.

계양구에 따르면, 구에는 구립도서관 6개소(분관 포함)와 시립도서관 1개소가 있지만, 경인아라뱃길 기준 북측 지역에는 공공도서관이 없다. 

계양구는 주민들의 불편 해소와 부족한 독서문화 환경을 개선하기 위해 지난해 3월 스마트도서관 구축계획을 수립했다. 

이후 구는 예산 확보를 위해 지속적으로 노력해왔으며, 지난 10월 인천시의 특별조정교부금 1억 3천5백만 원을 확보하고 관련 사업을 추진했다.

‘스마트도서관’은 365일 24시간 개방되어 이용자들이 편리하게 도서를 대출‧반납 할 수 있는 시스템으로 운영된다. 

어린이 도서를 포함해 신간 도서, 베스트셀러 등 250여 권이 비치되어 있으며, 구는 이용자의 수요를 파악해 주기적으로 도서를 교체해 주민들의 독서 편의를 증진할 계획이다.

윤환 계양구청장은 “장기동에 설치된 제1호 스마트도서관을 시작으로 도서관 이용이 어려운 지역을 꾸준히 발굴해 구민들이 더욱 가까운 곳에서 편리하게 책을 접할 수 있는 독서 환경을 조성해 나가겠다.”고 말했다.

또한, 계양구가 10일, 최근 구청 신비홀에서 고독사 예방을 위한 민관 협력기관 간담회를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

계양구에 따르면, 간담회는 지난 7일 열렸으며 고독사 위험군이 밀집된 지역 내 공유 공간을 활용한 사회적 관계망 형성과 고독사 예방 프로그램 운영의 효율성을 높이기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 간담회는 계양종합사회복지관, 계양구가족센터, 계산1동·계산2동·계양2동 행정복지센터, 복지정책과 희망복지팀 담당자 등 총 13명이 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

간담회에서는 계양구의 고독사 현황을 분석하고, 최근 1인 가구 증가와 사회적 관계망 약화로 심화되는 사회적 고립과 고독사 문제를 논의는 시간을 가졌다. 

또, 지난해 공동체 공간 및 사회적 관계망 형성 프로그램 운영 결과를 공유하고, 운영 과정에서의 어려움과 개선점, 효과적인 참여 유도 방법을 공유하는 시간도 가졌다. 

계양구는 이번 간담회에서 나온 의견들을 수렴해 향후 프로그램에 반영할 예정이며 또, 이달 중 고독사 위험군 대상자를 모집해 이르면 내달부터 권역별 사회적 관계망 형성 프로그램을 추진할 계획이다.
