(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천 서구가 16일, 올해 호우에 따른 포트홀(도로파손)에 대응하고자 인공지능(AI) 기반 ‘모바일 포장파손 자동탐지 시스템’을 시범 운영한다고  밝혔다.

서구에 따르면, 시스템은 도로 순찰 차량에 부착된 모바일 기기 센서를 통해 이뤄진다. 

주행 중 노면 위에 이상 징후가 발견되면, 이를 인공지능(AI) 알고리즘이 분석해 도로 포장 손상 여부를 자동으로 탐지한다. 

또, 손상된 지점의 사진과 위치 정보를 전송하여, 현장 확인 없이도 신속한 보수가 가능할 전망이다.

특히, 도로 파손 신고가 많아지는 장마철, 보수 우선순위를 결정하고 보수 비용을 절감하는 데도 도움을 줄 것으로 기대된다. 

서구는 6월 하순부터 3개월간 도심 전체 도로에 시스템을 일시 운영하고, 결과를 바탕으로 전면 도입 여부를 결정할 계획이다.

강범석 서구청장은 “이전까지는 시민 신고나 현장 순찰에 따라 도로 파손 여부가 파악되어, 선제 대응이 어려웠다”며 “도로 파손뿐 아니라, 더 다양한 시설에 IT기술을 적용할 수 있는 방안을 검토하겠다”고 전했다.

Incheon Seo-gu announced on the 16th that it will pilot an AI-based 'mobile pavement damage automatic detection system' to respond to potholes (road damage) caused by heavy rain this year.

According to Seo-gu, the system is operated through mobile device sensors attached to road patrol vehicles.

If an abnormality is found on the road surface while driving, an AI algorithm analyzes it and automatically detects whether the road pavement is damaged.

In addition, it is expected that quick repairs will be possible without on-site inspection by transmitting photos and location information of the damaged area.

In particular, it is expected to help determine repair priorities and reduce repair costs during the rainy season when road damage reports increase.

Seo-gu plans to temporarily operate the system on all roads in the city center for three months starting in late June and decide on whether to fully introduce it based on the results.
