(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 인천계양소방서가 17일, 여름철 에어컨 화재에 대비해 올바른 에어컨 사용법을 홍보한다고 밝혔다.

계양소방서에 따르면 여름철에는 높은 기온과 잦은 냉방기기 사용으로 에어컨의 과열, 전기적 결함 등으로 인한 화재가 많이 발생한다.

이에 소방서는 에어컨 등 냉방기기 사용이 급증하는 여름철에 접어든 시점에 부주의한 전기 사용으로 화재 위험이 높아질 것을 우려해 올바른 에어컨 사용법을 안내하고 있다.

주요 사용법은 에어컨 전용 단독 콘센트 사용 및 전선 이상 점검, 장시간 가동으로 인한 과열 주의, 작동 전 필터 청소 및 이상 유무 점검, 실외기 주변 정리 및 통풍 상태 유지 등이다.
