(브레이크뉴스인천 박상도 기자) 남동구가 18일, 행정안전부 주관 ‘2025년 재난관리평가’에서 우수기관으로 선정되며, 민선 8기 출범 이후 ‘3년 연속’ 우수기관 선정이란 성과를 달성했다고 밝혔다.

남동구에 따르면 재난관리평가는 재난안전관리 책임과 역량을 높이기 위해 중앙부처, 지자체 등 전국 재난관리책임기관 335곳을 대상으로 진행된다.

재난 예방, 대비, 대응, 복구 등 전 과정 43개 지표를 종합적으로 평가해 결과를 환류하며, 특히 남동구는 재난관리 전 영역에 걸쳐 우수한 평가를 받았다.

남동구에서 추진한 주요 재난관리 사업은 전담 인력 배치를 통한 365일 24시간 재난안전상황실 운영, 노후 및 방치된 종교시설 구조물(첨탑) 안전 점검 및 철거사업, 화재 취약계층 화재 감지 비상등 지원사업과 안전 취약계층 이용건물의 화재 예방 안전시설 지원사업 등이 있다.

이로써 남동구는 3년 연속 우수기관 선정이란 쾌거를 달성하며, 행정안전부 장관 표창과 함께 특별교부세 8천800만 원을 받게 됐다.

박종효 남동구청장은 “재난관리평가에서 3년 연속 우수기관으로 선정된 것은 구민의 생명과 안전을 지키는 것을 최우선으로 생각하고 안전한 남동구를 만들기 위한 노력의 결실”이라며 “이에 안주하지 않고 재난관리 역량을 더욱 강화해 구민의 일상이 안전한 남동구를 만드는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

또한, 남동구가 18일, 기부자들의 정성이 담긴 고향사랑기금을 활용해 청소년과 취약계층 어르신 지원을 위한 사업을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

남동구에 따르면, 구는 최근 고향사랑기금운용 심의위원회를 통해 2025년 기금사업으로 ‘위기청소년을 위한 맞춤형 상담공간 조성 및 프로그램 운영’과 ‘취약 어르신 반찬 배달 지원사업’ 등 총 2개 사업을 선정했다. 

청소년 상담공간 조성사업은 남동구 평생학습관 내 상담실, 멘토링실 등을 구성해 위기청소년의 특성과 수요를 고려한 다양한 상담기법 활용과 프로그램 운영을 통해 청소년 복지와 심리 건강 증진을 돕는다.

또, 어르신 대상 반찬 지원사업은 지역사회 소외계층 어르신을 대상으로 따뜻한 나눔은 물론 ‘노인 일자리 공동체사업 정도담’ 과 연계해 어르신 일자리 창출도 추진할 계획이다.

박종효 남동구청장은 “소중한 고향사랑기금을 통해 지역사회 청소년은 물론 취약계층 어르신 등 지역주민을 위한 뜻깊은 사업을 추진하게 되어 진심으로 감사하다”라며 “앞으로도 기부자와 구민 모두가 공감하며 지역 발전에 실질적인 도움이 될 수 있는 다양한 사업을 지속적으로 발굴해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
