인천시에 따르면, 소상공인 통계는 2023년 12월 31일 기준으로 인천시 관내 소상공인의 사업체 규모, 매출, 고용, 업종별 현황 등을 종합적으로 분석한 지역통계다.

이번 통계는 경인지방통계청과 협업해 작성함으로써 신뢰성을 높였다. 

또한, 통계데이터센터를 활용하여 기업통계등록부(기업·사업체 기본정보를 집계한 행정자료, 통계 작성과 분석에 활용)와 인천시 내부 자료(인천사랑상품권, 인천신용보증 융자지원 사업체 현황 등)를 연계함으로써 지역 특성을 반영했다.

통계 결과, 2023년 기준 인천시 소상공인 수는 32만 5,827개로 전체 사업체의 91.6%를 차지하며 지역경제의 핵심을 이루고 있다. 

이는 2022년 대비 4.3% 증가한 수치다.

소상공인의 종사자 수는 16만 1,352명으로 2022년 대비 1.0% 감소했으며, 매출액은 68조 640억 원으로 2022년 대비 1.3% 증가했다.

2023년 기준 소상공인의 생존율은 1년 79.4%, 3년 58.2%, 5년 45.3%로 나타났다.

폐업 사유 중에는 ‘사업 부진’이 55.9%로 가장 큰 비중을 차지했다.

소상공인 중 생활밀접업종(일상생활과 밀접하게 관련된 100개 업종) 사업체 수는 14만 5,920개로 전체의 44.8%를 차지했으며, 2022년 대비 6.2% 증가했다. 

종사자 수는 43,919명으로 2022년 대비 0.6% 감소했으며, 매출액은 19조 1,319억 원으로 2022년 대비 4.6% 늘어났다.

생활밀접업종의 창업사업체 생존율은 1년 77.1%, 3년 53.2%, 5년 40.1%로 소상공인 평균보다 낮았다. 

같은 해 신규 사업체는 4만 1,545개로 창업률이 28.5%에 달했으며, 폐업한 사업체는 3만 2,179개로 폐업률은 18.1%였다. 

창업률과 폐업률 모두 소상공인 전체 평균보다 높은 수준으로 나타났다.

이번 통계는 인천시 소상공인의 전반적 현황과 추세를 보여주는 중요한 기초자료로, 창업 초기 소상공인의 안정적 정착 지원과 업종별·지역별 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 정책 수립에 활용될 것으로 기대된다.
