Incheon Office of Education Presents Aerospace Academy Project at UKC International Conference
-Break News Incheon Park Sang-do Reporter
The Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that 13 participants, including 2nd-year high school students and their supervising teachers, presented the 2026 Aerospace Academy Project at the 2026 UKC International Conference (Korea-US Science and Technology Conference) held in Orlando, USA, from the 6th to the 8th.
According to the Incheon Office of Education, prior to the presentation, the students selected a topic in the aerospace field domestically and conducted research for several months. In particular, based on the 'Read, Walk, Write, AI' education promoted by the Office of Education, they gained experience in designing and developing their own research through a process of reading, exploring and questioning, writing research results, and solving problems.
The presentations were delivered in English in front of Korean-American scientists and researchers from around the world, covering a diverse range of topics including the exploration of bio-adsorbents for recycling wastewater on the International Space Station, the impact of owl wing serrations on flight speed in a Martian environment, baffle optimization research to suppress sloshing in rocket launchers, improvement of water electrolysis efficiency using pulsed voltage in a microgravity simulation environment, and research on energy harvesting and vibration damping utilizing honeycomb-structured piezoelectric-tuned mass dampers.
Meanwhile, the students experienced a global research culture and methods of scientific communication by receiving professional feedback on research directions and advanced strategies from researchers, university professors, and aerospace experts.
